PRESEASON OUTLOOK:
With the departure of 5 seniors and VonMoore having to redshirt, the Jayhawks start the year with a very young and inexperienced team.  Only five players return from last year, and only three have any starting experience.  Lacking any seniors on the team, junior forward Norm Cook and sophomores Clint Johnson and Ken Koenigs emerge as the leaders of the team. Juco transfer Herb Nobles and freshman Paul Mokeski will be counted on to be starters.  Unfortunately, the team only looks to be six deep.

SEASON SUMMARY:
Donnie Von Moore, 6'9 junior forward/center, missed the entire 1975-76 campaign with illness after serving as a part-time starter on the Jayhawks' Big Eight championship club of 1974-75.  Von Moore contracted pneumonia in late November and then suffered complications that resulted in surgery and a lengthy recovery period.

Paul Mokeski, 7'0 sophomore center, suffered a severely pulled hamstring on Thanksgiving Day attempting to get out of a Volkswagon.  The pull was almost a tear and Mokeski's varsity debut came nearly a month later in the Big Eight Christmas Tournament
