PROFESSIONAL CAREER:
Played for Phillips 66 in 1936-39
With the passing of the fine Cox-O’Leary-Johnson teams of the early 1930’s, Ray Ebling stepped in in the middle of the decade to continue KU’s run of success. An All-American forward in 1936, Ebling also was a three-time All-Big Six choice. He paced the Jayhawks to the ’34 conference cage championship as a sophomore and, teaming with Fred Pralle, added another league title in ’36. He also captained the ’36 squad. A fine offensive player, Ebling led the team in scoring each of his varsity years.
