Cris D. Barnthouse, M.D. is a member of Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Clinic of Kansas City, PA. He is a graduate of the University of Kansas School of Medicine, where he also completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency. He then completed a Clinical and Research Fellowship in Sports Medicine at Harvard School of Medicine. Dr. Barnthouse is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is the co-director of the Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Fellowship Program through the University of Missouri-Kansas City.. His practice emphasis is knee, shoulder, and sports injuries.

(right), rarely plays tournaments, but the former University of
Kansas basketball player--who wore No. 12 as an academic All-American--is
our No. 2. Like Hanzel, Barnthouse has a predilection
for father-son rounds and squeezing in holes after work on the course where
he lives. A member at Hallbrook Country
Club in Leawood, Kan., Barnthouse is a team
doctor for the Kansas City Chiefs and also sees patients
in his private practice.
Although traveling with the NFL team limits
his fall golf, Barnthouse has
managed several golf trips with friends. Among his
favorite memories are playing St. Andrews and Turnberry, where
he recalls being two under par in rain and sleet. "I don't have
sport-specific goals," he says.

A graduate of University of Kansas Medical School, Dr. Barnthouse completed his orthopaedic training at the University of Kansas Medical Center in 1986. He then went on to complete a fellowship in sports medicine at Massachusetts General in 1987 when he returned to Kansas City. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, and a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is the Co-Director of uouir sports medicine fellowship.
