SEASON SUMMARY:
With the start of the 1914-15 season, a new rule allowed for a five minute overtime period if the game was tied at the end of regulation.  Before this, the team that scored the first three points after a tie was declared the winner.  KU made use of the new rule, beating Iowa State in overtime during the second game of the season, 27-23.

The Jayhawks were 16-1 and compiled a 13-1 conference record in 1914-15, winning what would be their last Valley championship until 1922 and their last under Hamilton.  Led by All-Conference players Ralph “Lefty” Sproull, Ephraim Sorenson, Arthur Weaver and Ray “Stuffy” Dunmire, KU’s only loss was to what is now Kansas State.  Game accounts blamed the 21-18 loss on the fact that two Jayhawk starters had the mumps.  Sproull also was reported as sick, but he played.
