PRESEASON OUTLOOK:
The Basket Ball men are hard at work three evenings in the week, getting ready for the coming games and Captain Ira Adams is getting the men into good form.  Adams played guard last year and is known as one of the best players on the squad.  Manley Michaelson and Frank Barlow of last year's team are trying for forwards, while C. J. Bliss and H. L. Luther  are the new men working for the same positions.  Bliss has been on the track team for several years and is fast at getting around and passing the ball.  Hicks and Pooler are out practicing every evening but say they do not intend to try for the team because of their work in the law school requires too much time.

Ben Stelter, Charlie Siler and Milton Miller are trying for the center position.  Stelter and Siler have played the game for several years and know the game thoroughly.  Captain Adams will play his old position of guard.  Roy Roberts, William Miller, Roscoe Winnegal and Harry Hunter, allo new men, are trying for the other guard.  Winnegal is from Hiram College, Ohio, where he played on the college team.  He will very probably make the team here.

SEASON SUMMARY:
I can find nothing in the records for the 1904-05 season that Phog Allen played for KU that year.  However, the 1906 roster shows that he had earned a letter. The book, Phog, states on p. 19, that Phog enrolled at KU in 1905, but first played football and incurred a back injury, which bothered him the rest of the year.  So, it's doubtful that he actually received a letter in 1905.
