Lewis Harrison
A quick point guard who provides added depth to Kansas' backcourt, he is a hard-working juco transfer who made the team via walk-on tryouts prior to the 2000-01 season. He is a good ball-handler and passer.

Junior Season (2000-01): He saw the court in 16 games, averaging 2.4 minutes in those contests. He scored seven points, dished nine assists, made two steals and grabbed four boards in 2000-01. He made his Crimson and Blue debut against North Dakota Nov. 17, scoring one point. He had one board and two assists in the win over Washburn Nov. 25. He scored a point in his first conference appearance versus Nebraska Jan. 17. He tied a season-high with five minutes played and made his first career field goal for two points in the win over Kansas State at the Big 12 Tournament March 9. He sank his first career three-pointer en route to three points in the NCAA Tournament victory over Syracuse March 18. He made one steal in the Sweet 16 loss to Illinois March 23.

Kansas City Kansas Community College: He played in the Jayhawk League for coach John Oler. He tallied career-highs of 24 points and 19 assists for the Blue Devils. He was named to the Dean's List both years at KCKCC.

Piper (Kansas City, Kan.) High School (1998): He won five total letters for the Pirates -- three in basketball and two in baseball. He averaged 17 points and eight assists per game for coach David Hall. He played 4A ball in the Kaw Valley League. He was a four-year honor student.

Off The Court: He aspires to be a coach when he's finished with college. He made the team through walk-on tryouts which were attended by over 70 candidates. Harrison's mother, Cecelia Harrison, also attended KU. He was involved in a car accident the June before he started at Kansas, and had nearly decided to give up competitive basketball until Jayhawk coaches invited him to walk-on tryouts. Harrison changed his number from 30 to 2 this season, and he becomes the first known Jayhawk to sport that jersey number.
