Sophomore Season (1999-00)
Played in 15 games, all in a reserve role... Averaged 0.1 points and 0.2
rebounds per contest... Dished out four assists and tallied two steals on the
year... Saw action in eight Big 12 Conference games -- doubling his league total
from his freshman year... Went 2-for-2 from the line in a win over Pittsburg
State for his only points of the season... Recorded one rebound against Xavier,
Pittsburg State and Kansas State... Came up with a career-high two steals
against Pittsburg State... Put up a career-high three three-point field goal
attempts in a win over Nebraska on Jan. 15... Played a season-high three minutes
against both Xavier and Penn... Got in one postseason game -- Kansas'
opening-round win over Kansas State in the Big 12 Tournament.
Freshman Season (1998-99)
Saw action in 12 games, including four conference games... Averaged 2.8 minutes
per outing... Went 3-of-4 from the free throw line (.750)...Grabbed seven
rebounds, dished out a pair of assists and had two steals... Saw action in three
postseason games including two games in the Big 12 Conference Tournament... Made
his collegiate debut Nov. 21 with two points, two rebounds and an assist in
eight minutes against Fort Hays State... Saw six minutes of action against
defending NCAA champion Kentucky Dec. 1 at the Great Eight in Chicago... Pulled
down three rebounds, scored a point, dished out an assist and had one steal in
KU's win over visiting Texas A&M in the Big 12 Conference opener... Went
2-of-2 from the free throw line in the Jayhawks' home victory over Iowa State...
Got a taste of NCAA Tournament play when he made an appearance against
Evansville in the opening round of the Midwest Regional.
High School
Horton (Kan.) High School, 1998... Averaged 31.3 points and 11.1 rebounds per
game as a senior... Put up those numbers despite facing double-teams and gimmick
defenses... Made 58-of-180 three-point field goal attempts (32.2 percent) and
shot 79.6 percent from the free throw line... Led the Chargers in blocked shots
(52), steals (84) and dished out 83 assists... Led Horton to a 16-8 record...
Was named first team all-state by the Topeka Capital-Journal and Wichita
Eagle... Owns the school record for career points (2,008)... Put up a
school-record 52 points against McLouth as a senior... Earned four varsity
letters.
Personal
Crider's hometown -- Horton, Kan. -- has a population of 1,800 and is located 67
miles northwest of Lawrence... Horton is also the hometown of former KU
athletics director and Basketball Hall of Fame member A.C. Dutch Lonborg...
Chose Kansas over Oklahoma, Kansas State, Utah, Illinois State, Southwest
Missouri State, Wichita State and Tulsa... Crider said he wanted to be a Jayhawk
ever since KU won the NCAA championship in 1988... Crider's all-time favorite KU
player is Rex Walters, who lives in Lawrence in the NBA off-season and plays in
Jayhawk summer pick-up games... Post-school ambition is to play professional
basketball.
