The Scoop
  Janisse came to Kansas this season after a standout two-year career at Los Angeles City College... His Kansas career got off to a bad start when underwent ankle surgery just prior to the beginning of fall drills... Janisse missed both of KU's exhibition games and was forced to play catch-up the rest of the way... A good passer and on-the-ball defender... Was a junior college All-American.

Janisse's playing time has been limited this season, but he has shown signs of promise for the future... On two occasions this season when Kansas was struggling, Janisse was inserted into the lineup and provided a defensive spark.

  Parents are Willie and Deirdre Williams... Born August 18, 1977 in Los Angeles... Nickname is "Jay"... Enjoys listening to music and watching movies... His uncle, Pat Bolden, played basketball at Cal-State Northridge... Attended the same high school as Jon Garland... Considering a major in business administration.

  Janisse says: "People have always called me a 'sleeper', and I don't know why." We have an idea why. He describes himself as "very laid back." His favorite food is candied yams.
